Background
Our mission is to develop concept solutions that bridge the gap between available technology; improved methodology; and the need for faster more effective clinical diagnosis and treatment of degenerative eye disorders, through the alignment, integration and use of leading-edge digital imaging, data capture and interpretation, and machine learning.Â
By defining and facilitating accessible, accurate, low cost early diagnosis systems, we seek to create solution systems that dramatically improve prognosis through early intervention, significantly reduce the immediate direct cost of diagnosis, and minimise the ultimate cost treatment delivery, while also positively impacting quality of life years gained and societal contribution.
Founder
Mario has over 20 years’ experience in ophthalmology working in a variety of eminent ophthalmic centres in the UK and internationally. Currently am working as a Corneal Consultant in Singleton Hospital, Swansea. He has completed a prestigious fellowship at the University of Toronto in Cornea and Refractive Surgery, where he learnt the pioneering technique of Cornea transplantation through keyhole access (DMEK).Â
He is also a board member of charities, dedicated to raising awareness of conditions such as Diabetes and Diabetic Retinopathy among Black & Minority Ethnic populations.
Mario’s dream goes beyond his surgical skill and changing one life at a time, and extends into helping to create a new unified approach that redefines the future vision of ophthalmology, and enable the provision of its benefits to communities and cultures that have been denied sight and quality of life through cost or geography.
